Viktor Eszterhai is a Senior Researcher at the Pallas Athene Innovation and Geopolitical Foundation since 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2018 at the Eötvös Loránd University Modern and Contemporary History Doctoral Program. He holds an MA in History and Geography, and a BA in Psychology. Between 2014 and 2015 he was a Senior Researcher at the Department of International Relations at the Tsinghua University in Beijing under the joint intergovernmental scholarship program of the Balassi Institute and the Chinese Government Scholarship Council. In 2017 he was a visiting scholar at Fudan Development Institute, Fudan University.
His research areas are the cultural characteristics of Chinese foreign policy, the relationship between China and Central Eastern Europe and non-western schools of International Relations. He speaks English and Chinese in addition to his mother tongue. He has numerous domestic and international publications about China. He is a regular participant of China-related Hungarian and international conferences. Since 2018 he is a visiting lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest.
